TEAM JAGUAR
MAKES STRIDES AGAINST BREAST CANCER

TEAM JAGUAR (Patricia Allen, Monique Baisden, Alika Nathan, Courtney Ware & Malkia S. White) participated in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K on Saturday, October 6, 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia. Thanks to our supporters we raised $1,640 to win the fight against breast cancer.

Why TEAM JAGUAR makes strides against breast cancer:

I am walking for my family AND friends who have been affected by ALL types of cancer. As I personally know and have witnessed God as the Ultimate Healer, I also know that He can produce a cure for all forms of cancer! So, as I walk not only to honor and remember survivors and those who fought good fights...I will walk in expectation of the cure... because GOD CAN! and GOD WILL! So...Dad, Lee Lee, Donita, Kenny Sr., Lacy, Elizabeth, and Rashonda...This walk is dedicated to you!!! And to my beautiful Aunt Gee...I walk in honor of you. Rest In Eternal Peace, My Angel. Peace & Blessings! ~ Patricia

Cancer is a terrible disease! This disease has taken the lives of many people I love and care about. I am walking in the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" 5K in honor of my loved ones who lost their lives to cancer, and to join in with the American Cancer Society to raise breast cancer awareness and fundraise for the cause. ~ Monique

I am walking for my fallen angelsmy former manager and friend Lisa Eaddy, my grandmother Arcola Gray, and a woman who was like my second mom Drewnita (Nikki) Barron. I am walking for my Godmom, Vivian Gray, who is a survivor. I am walking for the sake of awareness and in hope that they will soon find a cure for cancer. ~ Alika

I walk for 3 women in particular -- two of whom are still fighting the good fight (one who is my age - 28) and one who has gone on to be with the Lord. My efforts are for them. ~ Courtney

I'm walking in memory of my grandmother, Phyllis M. White, and friend, Martha Christmas.  And, I'm walking to honor my aunt, June V. White, and friend, Donita Cardwell, who are survivors of breast cancer. Considering myself a Vehicle of Compassion, I know I will make a difference in finding a cure for breast cancer. ~ Malkia

FROM HELL TO WIN NAMED FINALIST
FOR THE 2011 BLACK WEBLOG AWARDS

Last year, From Hell to Win: Prayers for Life's Challenges was named a Finalist for the 2011 Black Weblog Awards in three categories:
  1. Best Faith-Based Blog;
  2. Best Personal Blog; and
  3. Blog to Watch.
In July 2011, Malkia S. White traveled to Los Angeles, California to attend the Blogging While Brown Conference and Black Weblog Awards Ceremony. Founded in 2005 to give recognition to Black bloggers (and those of the African diaspora), the Black Weblog Awards (www.blackweblogawards.com) are an annual celebration of Black social media excellence.

Considering From Hell to Win was less than 1 years old and Malkia was new to blogging, it was a tremendous accomplishment being nominated and designated as a Finalist for the 2011 Black Weblog Awards.
Each category Finalist received a trophy
