The Big Cats are back in stride again! JAGUARS, COUGARS & LIONS are preparing to participate in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Forest Park in St. Louis, Missouri.

Last year, with your financial support, JAGUARS, COUGARS & LIONS raised $1,030! Your tax-deductible donations were substantial enough to provide:

  • Cost of Look Good...Feel Better for 1 woman facing a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment: $200
  • 10 round-trip rides for 1 patient through the Road to Recovery program: $100
  • Cost of Reach to Recovery peer support for 1 newly diagnosed woman in our community: $100
  • 5 hours of toll-free access to the National Cancer Information Center: $130

Molasses describes her beautiful, ebon skin and her sweet nature. However, I bestowed this nickname upon her in 2009, when I learned that it accurately describes her pace. My hurried movements and verbal warnings are null and void when I stress the importance of going. From my lips to her ears, she’s determined that a slow, steady pace is appropriate. And that’s one of the many reasons why I love her! At the tender age of 4, she already knew that “slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when” God’s “vision will be fulfilled.” (Habakkuk 2:3, TLB).

Yesterday, she celebrated 10 years of life and I thank God for allowing me to see her mature. I am overjoyed to introduce you to my Goddaughter/Molasses/Angel/Future Spelman Sister, Erin N. Johnson. I pray that her testimony will give you hope to believe in God’s vision for your life.
